Writing from Sri Lanka.........

A drizzle at the dawn brought about an idea for today as it is not going to be a day with scorching hot sun. Then I thought of sleeping a little more as it is going to be the final day of the vacation. After waking up around 9.30 am as usual morning routine I checked my phone for the new texts from friends one group chat has a photo of a church ruins. I thought it to be photos of the Notre-Dame church and then scrolled down to see the most unexpected and tragic event of my whole life. This is not another report, just some thoughts built up as the day went by.

Secret of Lavenders

Previous Today is a Better Day blog is going to be Lavenders Basket from now on...
This Lavender has a secret. One might wonder whether is it a name or an object. Well both; depending on the situation. The change of name came as a option for the long silence and starting anew. Although that particular name has a story to it and story starts like this.

A word on SHINee “Our Page”.

They sing about our page. The same stance we were pausing on for past 190 days. That sad moment which we are still in denial.
While engaging in their hectic tasks they look for him. His light, his illumination. Walking in dark allies, training hard core, they look for that inspiration. That inspiration which was there 190 days ago. Him. That wonderful personality once shone on stage. Today shining in the deep blue sky.

Not Feminism ; but Realism

She is a healer, creator and a designer.

Even this is not a pre-planned post about feminism or society.. It turned out that those variables are in the same equation and cannot be separated.;
World thinks that each Home sapience who carry two x chromosomes is a born feminist.
Even though everyone ought to speak for her, her rights and her future, she is the volunteer spokesperson for herself and others.

A girl, a woman, a mother,  a leader; so many roles one chromosome decides.
Mother nature, mother ship even mother nucleus... so many words root from her.

Over 50% of the world population. Yet, she needs a voice.
That’s not because she hasn’t the voice, because her voice has been diminished over centuries.  Early hominids left females at caves and went hunting and exploring because looking after the offspring was her duty..

Ahem.. ditto even for today.

Had a taste of a busy life and I learnt 5 things..!

There is a saying ; that some things in life we need to have a firsthand experience to know exactly what it is like to be. Having a tight schedule is something like that. During my short experience; I've learnt few things.

Even though these experiences are recent, my feelings are long lasting..
My first alarm goes off at 4.35 a.m and my second alarm screams at 4.40 a.m. The 5 minutes between them is a bliss..!

Here are few things I figured out..

Rest In Peace Alan Rickman ...

Our Snape; hero who was hidden in the plain sight.

I first saw him on the big screen as the rude, boring Potions Professor.
His acting was brilliant. We saw only the evil professor until the very end where we saw his memories. And ever since he is a hero for us.

Stepping out from the Comfort Zone.....

As anyone might argue, Comfort zone is called by that name because it's the zone which suits us. We feel free and vibrant.

We all reluctant to step out from our comfort zones. Mostly we are afraid of the outcome.
But keep in mind,  “The new zone that you are reluctant to step in , will eventually become your comfort zone.”
There is no permanent line dividing us from the terrifying zone and the comfort zone. As long as our hearts want it, we can step into the new zone any time.!

You can try these simple steps......

NaBloPoMo nov.19 Prompt

Oh, apparently I don't want a retirement.
But despite these objections, we can't stop or delay our own biological clock. (yet.!)

A peaceful retiring life. I’ve never thought about it before, but for this prompt; I had to.!
mmmm What about Mars, will they be able to colonize Mars by then and will they accept old people ? If so I call shotgun.!

I was Here : A song to the Soul ....

I was here by Beyonce is a song worth listening from the heart and absorb to the soul.

Listen from the heart.? Yeah, I actually meant that.
Normally we listens to songs and involuntarily they slip from our minds.
But this song has a special place in my mind. I believe you also agree with me.

This song was written by Diane Warren and Beyonce’ released this song in 2011.
In 2012 she performed this song at the United Nations General Assembly.
It was donated to the World Humanitarian Day.
Within Indie rock guitars, musical keyboards and big drums this song conveys a message that each and everyone of  us to bear in mind and follow.

PCT : My Dream Hike.!

First of all,
I’m far away from being a thru-hiker ; a hiker who finishes the trail in a single trip.
But one day I want to hike all three trails of Triple Crown Hiking; The Pacific Crest Trail, Appalachian Trail, and Continental Divide Trail : with my sketchbook and pencils.

That’s the moment I feel that my life is complete.....

Can’t we actually love each other.?

Love comes from respect; Respect comes from understanding.
So understanding is the key; understanding each other and respecting their views.!

Paris; one of the picturesque cities in the world, which had a tragic encounter recently. We all worried and expressed our condolences in our own ways, but we really have to address the matter.

I hate to discuss politics as it's a bottomless pit. But this isn't about politics. This is about humanity; love towards mankind. No one can turn their back to it.!

Here are my views,

A good Book & a perfect cup of Coffee..!

There is no better combination than this. Books always beat the movies.

Books are slow, they build the plot,
slowly arrives the conflict and resolves it in a mind blowing way.
Books make us imagine our own version of that particular world , our own heroes ; it’s live: more than anything it’s always there inside our head whenever we want to visit.!

That's all I want to do.!

Every morning in line for a marathon,
Running for a living,
as a part of living.
Working and working
working for a paper,
A piece of paper with some figures in it.
They call it a pay cheque,
most dreadful of all;
as our worlds builds on those.

beauty of "Darkness"

NaBloPoMo nov.6 Prompt

 Darkness.

As any child would I was afraid of darkness.
It was like somebody is looking at me with big wide eyes, big foot, Yeti or may be a mothman.

Holding a light in the darkness is really scary for me.
Staying in the darkness without a light is somewhat comforts me. It’s like I’m camouflaging.

Like prehistoric people I’m still a little afraid to the dark. I have to admit I'm not proud about that.
But I love the night as well. The calmness, the quietness; it’s soothing. Best time of the day for me is the night.
